Keviyan Huddleston Media Day Availability
https://youtu.be/peYZLgXqJDQ

is one of the many talented defensive linemen on this roster. At 6-foot-4 and 269 pounds, Huddleston has the kind of size you want coming off the edge, and he is very good at getting in the other team's backfield. And he seems to have a knack for making big plays right when his team needs it the most. He’s big, and he's also athletic and explosive.

Huddleston started his college career at TCU before transferring to North Texas, and that’s where he really started putting together some production. Last season, he finished with 30 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks in 13 games. So he’s not coming to Stillwater having to figure out college football. He’s already played a lot of it. He’s been in the Big 12, he’s played at another FBS program, and he’s had success getting into the backfield. And he's played in THIS system, for the EXACT same coaches he's playing for now.

This defense is gonna need a LOT of depth, and they have it, so it was great to see Keviyan come over with the rest of the UNT crew.

From TCU to UNT to OSU. The Keviyan Huddleston Journey
Carson Kolb...Much respect, sir!
Kolb is transferring in from Oregon State, where he played in all 12 games last year. As per Head Coach Eric Morris, Kolb came to OSU as a walk-on, or whatever the terminology may be, then earned a scholarship, now likely the frontrunner to be the starter at tight end.

Coach Svoboda values multiple skills at that position, and Kolb brings that. He'll be excellent when he's attached and blocking. He's also athletic, so pulling back and kicking defensive ends on the split zone should be a strength, and he's long, so he should be a good matchup on linebackers.

He and Shaun Torgeson are probably THE two biggest surprises of the Spring. Atta Baby Carson...Keep killin' it! #GoPokes #OkState

🎥 Terrence Lewis Media Day Availability👉 https://youtu._gxVhQaLB7A
Terrence Lewis is a 5-11 receiver who transferred in from UNT and has a reputation for being dynamic after the catch. He didn't arrive at camp until summer last year—which is late by today's standards—but impressed the coaches enough to play in 12 games.

His skill set makes him a natural fit to slip underneath or operate in the screen game where he can generate YAC, something he says he’s worked on a lot. We didn't get to see his long touchdown in Saturday's scrimmage, but by all accounts, he read the defense, found the soft spot, and made magic happen once he got the ball. He also showed off that big-play ability with a 37-yard score against UTSA last year.

His humble nature and understanding of how he has to work for everything he gets, every day, came through loud and clear as he spoke. That feels like a common thread with this transfer class—everyone has a clean slate to write their own story at OSU, and that's a huge motivator.

This receiver room is stacked, so finding touches for everyone will be a "Houdini" act at times. But as fast as this offense moves, depth will be crucial, and the reps are there for the taking. As Terrence said, this staff calls "balls and strikes," not favorites. Show you're the best, and you get the reps. It's THAT simple!

🎥 Drew Svoboda Media Availability

Drew Svoboda talked about a LOT of different things when he met with the media, but one thing of note was how he looks at the special teams units and, more specifically, how he decides who belongs on them.

Because it's not just, “OK, take the backups from offense and defense and put them on special teams.”
Sometimes it's a starter, sometimes it's a backup, and sometimes it's a third-string guy who just happens to be really good at that particular job.

And Svoboda said that's part of his job. He has to look at the entire roster from a “30,000-foot view” and figure out where guys fit. If a defensive player is going to have to play 50 or 60 snaps that week, that obviously matters when you're deciding how much you want to use him on special teams.

And then he has to evaluate who the returner is, what their return scheme looks like, how good their return unit is, and how well our personnel matches up against their personnel.

All of that goes into the decision, and sometimes the goal is simply to kick it through the back of the end zone and not give an elite returner a chance. Other times, if Oklahoma State feels like it has an advantage, the Cowboys might try to pin a team deep.

He also talked about being aggressive in the punt game despite knowing how good the offense is, and when they get it going, field position won't always matter to them.

There's a LOT more that goes into special teams than just putting 11 guys on the field and kicking the ball.

This clip gives you a pretty good look at how much goes into those decisions behind the scenes.

⬇️Nathan Peterson Exclusive Interview
https://youtu.be/kTJQFtnMAQ8

When asked which teammates Nathan Peterson thought didn't get enough credit for how good they were, he immediately went to Seth Newton and Justin Waller. Newton had the big reverse pass against Tech, and Waller had some great moments, but he happened to be behind Brandon Pettigrew.

Peterson is convinced that Waller could have started for just about anyone else, because he was THAT good. And then he mentioned that he played baseball at Ponca. And, boy, did he ever.

Justin Waller hit balls off the Pioneer Women Restaurant in Pawhuska. And, yeah, you didn't read that wrong, he played for Ponca. Probably the hardest ball he ever hit was NOT a home run, though. Waller hit a ball in Stillwater at about 132 MPH, and it hit directly off the forehead of the pitcher Mikey Pratt. Pratt was immediately knocked OUT, and by first-hand accounts from the Stillwater coaches who were there, they weren't sure he was still alive.

In fact, I think some of them assumed he wasn't because Waller hit the ball THAT hard. I can only say that now because Mikey was fine, and he's now a priest in Rome, so it makes for a great Justin Waller story now, years later. #GoPokes #OkState
