It was a great day inside Boone Pickens Stadium Saturday, and there was a lot of great action. Several Cowboys played a big part and here are several of the highlights.
Congrats to Ollie Gordon-Big 12 Offensive POTW! First OSU back with 100 yards both catching & receiving in a game since 1989-Gerald Hudson. Gordon rushed 29 times-174-TD & also had 6 catches-166 yards-1 TD. This dude is a beast!
OSU used Brennan Pressley more & he payed it off! He had 8 catches-79 yards & the game winning TD. This dude is electric & does a lot of things that go into the stat sheet, but even MORE that DON”T. Keep feedin’ this man the rock!
Jaden Nixon looks like he’s been shot out of a cannon when comes in. Nixon had some huge carries Saturday & averaged 6.6 YPC. Love the “scatback” look he gives after Gordon has punished the D! Great 1-2 Combo!
Rashod Owens is quickly turning into one of the best receivers in the Big 12. 9 catches-112 yards, great blocker & pass route running is elite.Owens is a former QB, so used to being in middle of action. Super pumped about how his game has evolved!
Another huge game for Nick Martin. 17 tackles against K-State, 8 this week-1 sack, 1.5 TFL & forced fumble. And his pass coverage was pretty spot on as well. This dude has been playin’ his ASS off & the Pokes have needed ALL of it.
Kendall Daniels is asked to do a lot for OSU. He’s both a run & pass player & usually covers the other teams most versatile, or quickest receiver. Not sure OSU wins Saturday without his huge interception! Big time players make Big time plays in the Big moments!
How good is Collin Oliver! Oliver is an elite pass rusher & does a great job dropping into shallow coverage as well & when game planning, he’s the 1st one to account for. 2.5 TFL, 2.5 Sacks against KU & huge down the stretch.
Next time you watch OSU, watch Blaine Green block, He’s very explosive, but he’s equally as unselfish & is very impressive. 2 for 18-long of 17, but doesn’t begin to tell the story of his impact. Well Done!
Huge day for Xavier Benson!. TT-JUCO-OSU 6 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1/2 sack! Benson did a great job chasing down the option game for Kansas, then getting pressure on Bean in the pass game. Great athlete with a lot of versatility!
Anthony Goodlow, TU transfer-versatile & super reliable. Huge tip for Oskie! Run stuffer, good pass rusher & can drop into coverage. Goodlow is ALWAYS in the right spot! Huge asset from the portal!
Huge part of winning close games is Special Teams. KU struggled w/ extra points, Alex Hale did his thing. Hale did miss 1, but made 4 & is 15 for 18-long of 53. And…OSU has needed ALL of them!
Braden Cassity doin’ WORK! Skill players get the glory, but the guys that do the “Dirty Work” are the Guts! Well Done, Keep Kickin’ Ass & Much Respect for everything you do for this club!
