Drew Mestemaker is the unquestioned #1 quarterback, but I'm sure a LOT of Oklahoma State fans are interested in what the depth chart looks like behind him. Grant Jordan is a transfer from UMass who brings multiple seasons of college football experience with him. He's played at the FBS level, and he's the most experienced guy in the room behind Mestemaker. Brody Vehrs and Luke Tepas, on the other hand, are true freshmen who are just getting started. They're just getting started with the college game, and obviously there's going to be a learning curve there. 🔥 Bodie Boydstun is one of those stories that is really easy to root for. Boydstun grew up in Enid and played quarterback at Oklahoma Bible Academy, which played eight-man football. And while it's not unheard of for Oklahoma 8-man players to go on to bigger things — OSU fans can point to guys like Stacey Satterwhite, Brady Bond and Dan Bailey — it's certainly not the normal path. But Boydstun's story is pretty interesting. As a senior at OBA, he threw for 2,099 yards and 27 touchdowns while rushing for 882 yards and 27 more touchdowns. That's 2,981 total yards and 54 touchdowns. Pretty ridiculous. He then went to Southwestern Oklahoma State as a quarterback before eventually making the move to tight end. In 2025, he earned Second Team All-Great American Conference honors after catching 14 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Now he's at Oklahoma State. And honestly, I think his background makes him really intriguing. He's played quarterback, he's played multiple positions, and he's had to learn the game from different perspectives. And when you're playing tight end, having actually played quarterback gives you a pretty good idea of what the guy throwing you the ball is seeing. And he's big. He's tough. And he's not going to be outworked. But don't take my word for it. Listen to Drew Svoboda, who described Boydstun as physical, tough, high character, a hard worker, and a “yes sir” guy. I really like that and the fact that nothing has been handed to him. From eight-man football in Enid, to quarterback at SWOSU, to an All-Conference tight end, and now to Oklahoma State. 🔥 “We’re trying to win a championship around here.” That line at the end really stood out to me. Because let's be honest, when you hear that Oklahoma State has 87 new players, your first thought is probably going to be, How in the world do you get all of those guys on the same page? But listening to this, that doesn't really seem to be the biggest issue. These guys believe in what Oklahoma State is doing. They believe in the coaches. They believe in each other. And maybe most importantly, there’s a LOT of experience in this group. These aren't all young guys trying to figure out college football for the first time. A lot of them have played four or five years. They've been through it. They've played at a high level, and they've made all the mistakes and learned from them. They've already been through that process, so now it's about getting everybody to play fast and understand that they don't have to do everything themselves. Just do your 1/11. Play for the guy next to you. Hold each other accountable. And when somebody makes a big play, celebrate it together. That stuff matters. And I really like the confidence behind this. It's exactly what I was talking about earlier when I promoted his Media Availability interview. It's a genuine belief that, when everyone buys in, the expectation is to win a Championship. 🎥 **Sean Brophy Media Availability** I know Eric Morris is going to be the guy calling the plays, but I don't think that means Sean Brophy is somebody Cowboy fans should overlook. Actually, I think the opposite. Brophy has been around Morris for a LONG time. Incarnate Word. Washington State. North Texas. He knows what Morris wants to do, he knows how he wants his quarterbacks to play, and he has been around some REALLY good quarterbacks. At North Texas, the passing offense finished **12th, 4th and 2nd nationally** in passing yards per game during his three seasons there. He coached quarterbacks who threw for more than 3,000 yards, and then last year helped Drew Mestemaker put together one of the best seasons in the country. Mestemaker led the FBS in passing yards and passing yards per game, and Brophy was named **FootballScoop Quarterbacks Coach of the Year.** And then there's Cam Ward. Brophy was part of the staff at Incarnate Word when Ward was there early in his career. That's a pretty darn good résumé for a guy who is going to be working with Oklahoma State's quarterbacks. And that's really what caught my attention talking to him. He doesn't have to be the guy calling the plays to have a HUGE impact on what this offense becomes. I had a chance to talk with Brophy today, and I think Cowboy fans are going to enjoy hearing what he has to say. Definitely one worth checking out. 🧡🤠

🔥 **Drew Svoboda Media Availability** https://youtu.be/vyR2mC0vaPs If you’re looking for a reason to be excited about what Drew Svoboda is bringing to Oklahoma State, just look at the track record. Svoboda has spent 26 years coaching, including stops at Alabama, North Texas, Rice, and Memphis. At Alabama, he helped lead special teams that ranked No. 1 nationally in points scored and produced three blocked punts, including two returned for touchdowns. Then at North Texas, his special teams units were among the best in the country. In 2023, they ranked No. 1 in The American and No. 18 nationally in PFF's overall special teams grade, earning Svoboda a Frank Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year nomination. And in 2025, his UNT special teams unit was the third-highest graded in the American while also ranking No. 8 nationally with two blocked punts. But the thing that really stands out to me is that Svoboda isn't just a special teams coach. He's been a head coach, associate head coach, tight ends coach, and offensive coach, and he brings a TON of experience to this Oklahoma State staff. Svoboda talked with the media, and it's easy to see why he's had so much success. Even in answering questions that, surely, he's been asked 1000x, he's teaching. Which means he's not just putting an answer in a can. He actually wants people to understand the concepts he's explaining. And if you or I can "get it," imagine how easy it is for his players. 🎥 Skyler Cassity Media Availability https://youtu.be/EljCOVDdIC4 Had the chance to ask Coach Cassity some questions, and he's SUPER impressive. His conviction and belief in what he does will sell you on the spot. His confidence will be contagious, and it will attract competitive people. The message is, do your 1/11. And if that happens, the defense functions at a HIGH level. Another thing that sticks out, at least to me, and it's along the same lines, is how convicted he already is in exactly what he does. And what is he so convicted about? First, this defense is going to play aggressively. In fact, being aggressive is a mandate from Coach Morris, but it also matches perfectly with the principles and philosophies of Coach Cassity as well. It's also going to be versatile. Multiple fronts, multiple coverages, anywhere from man to every-eyes-on-QB zone in the back. So, then the question becomes, how do you get this many new players to understand the complexities of doing this many things? He didn't hesitate to talk about how "bought in" each player is. And while this defense will be VERY multiple, within that structure, it's a 1/11 approach. Every piece of that 11-man pie has to be simple enough for each player to understand, to the point where they don't overanalyze and can play fast. That's one part, maybe the biggest part I'm excited about. When you can make the overall scheme very versatile and complex, but then make each player's individual responsibilities very straightforward and simple to understand, you get the best of all worlds. Defensive Coordinator, Skyler Cassity Media Availability
Gracie Bindbeutel has been through A LOT to get back on this pitch. She got off to a great start to her career, making the All-Freshman team in 2022. Two ACL injuries. A redshirt season in 2023. Another knee injury kept her out of the 2025 season after the first 5 games. But she kept working. She came back in 2024 and earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors, starting 20 of 21 games and scoring twice. Now she's back again. Tonight, she helped the Cowgirls battle Sam Houston to a 1-1 draw. And after everything she's been through, seeing No. 14 back out there competing in an Oklahoma State jersey is pretty special. This is Gracie Bindbeutel's story. 🧡
Soccer Star's Comeback Goals and Glory!
The offense for OSU is catching most of the headlines, but don't sleep on the talent and experience of the defense. James Williams is a defensive end who has played at both Nebraska and Florida State, and he's known for being a VERY explosive pass rusher off the edge. With the size of Jaleel and Malik, James and DJ will be able to play off of that and, similar to the smaller back coming in after the bigger back has softened things up, they stand a GREAT chance at having success in those scenarios. One thing that is a common theme on this roster is versatility in skill sets, and I think the defensive end group is at the top of that list. And, as we know, generating a pass rush while rushing as few as you can get away with can lead to BIG success. The Defensive end group should be a fun one to watch! #GoPokes #OkState

⬇️ Keep Working. After Oklahoma State's 1-1 draw with Sam Houston, Coach Colin Carmichael talked about what the Cowgirls need to do moving forward. The biggest thing? Keep working. Carmichael talked about finishing their chances, continuing to get better, and understanding that the season is LONG. There’s plenty of soccer still to be played. The message is simple: keep working, keep improving, and keep believing in the process. 🧡
